I grew up liking the camera. I love being part of the scene and keeping memories of special occasions. As I matured, my appreciation for photography grew and found myself liking the position behind the camera.
I got my first DLSR (canon 350d) in April of 2006. I guess it would be fun owning one and I could start making creative shots. But somehow it was too bulky for me to carry and I never brought it with me all the time. I was too lazy to pursue to hobby and laid my camera hidden somewhere.
Late last year, I met a photographer from London named Martin Hughes who has amazing works. When I asked him, "how often do you shoot?" his reply was, "as often as I can because I love my hobby with passion." I was convicted with his words. . that was missing in me. . i love photography but not in that level, i wasn't passionate about it.
After that conversation, my photography life changed. I took every opportunity I have to take photo whether it be in a cemetery, garden, mall, outdoors, etc. My world became bigger. I was recently asked by a photographer friend how my life changed since I became a photographer. I told him that I grew appreciation of the things that surround me and now I do not wait or look for that "special moment" because every moment could be turned into something special.
